Leoš Janáček's Zápisník zmizelého song cycle, in a fresh German translation, produced as an innovative chamber opera in the intimate surrounds of Vienna's Salon Razumovsky.
Set in the bedroom of Janáček's young protagonist Janík, the action is compressed into an expressive series of everyday rituals, which are challenged by an encounter with a gypsy girl, and then irrevocably changed as Janík shrugs off his fears and his parents' prejudices in a taut, psychological rite of passage.
"A great production met with frenetic applause from an enthusiastic audience." - Helmut Hoffmann, 24/04/2016
