A high-octane, site-specific and highly theatrical production staged in and around Berlin's Elizabethkirche, starring young singers from the Berlin Opera Academy.

The story was re-jigged into a modern #metoo Jacobean revenge tragedy: Eisenstein's misdeeds and misbehaviour in Act I come back to bite him in Acts II and III, with Rosalinda and Falke sharing the role of victim turned moral avenger.

Playing with the idea of performing gender, and incorporating operetta, grand opera, musical theatre and Regietheater, this Fledermaus was a meta-theatrical celebration of opera's 'prima donna' which challenged traditional power structures and questioned gender stereotypes.

"5 stars - an absolutely thrilling production!" - twotickets.de, 02/08/2018
